September always feels a little like January to me – a fresh start, a reset, and a chance to step into something new. But it can also feel overwhelming.
For many, this time of year means the start of a new school year, heading off to college or university, or simply returning to work after a summer break. It’s that Sunday evening blues feeling on a much bigger scale. One minute you’re on a holiday high, and the next you’re back to to-do lists, routines, and responsibilities.
This year, I really felt that contrast.
Summer Moments That Filled My Cup
August was a whirlwind in the best possible way.
- I climbed Snowdon in North Wales, something that has been on my bucket list for years.
- I explored the Zip World Caverns – deep underground in a former quarry, climbing and zip-lining through the caves. Another unforgettable bucket list tick!
- Both of my sons received their GCSE results (a huge milestone as a mum!).
- I spent an amazing holiday in Spain with family & friends, filled with laughter, sunshine, and memories to treasure.
These moments reminded me how important it is to step away, to breathe, to celebrate, and to make space for joy.
Returning With Purpose
Coming back to work after such a high always feels strange – almost like landing back on earth. There’s that dip in energy, that sense of “back to reality.” But for me, this September also brings something new and exciting:
👉 Tomorrow, I launch The Thrive Tribe.
It’s my brand-new online community for women who want to feel fit, strong, and healthy as they age. It’s a space for short, effective workouts, live weekly classes, on-demand videos, education, monthly goals, and most importantly – connection with like-minded women.
I won’t lie, it’s nerve-wracking launching something new. But it’s also something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time, and I can’t wait to see it come to life.
A Message for You
If you’re feeling the weight of September, whether it’s the back-to-school rush, the return to work, or just the shift of seasons – know that you’re not alone. It’s completely normal to feel a dip after the highs of summer.
But it’s also the perfect time to check in with yourself:
- What do you want this season to feel like?
- Where do you want to put your energy?
- What new chapter are you ready to begin?
For me, the answer is simple: to create a space where women can thrive, together.
Here’s to fresh beginnings, even when they feel scary!
